What is representation?

Representation is re-presenting "reality". Although reality may be different from different perspectives. Media is what we use for mass communication: Music, game, news, radio, newspaper, advertisement, etc...
How are we sure the media is a re-presentation of “reality”?
To make sure the “reality” is based on reality, you have to consider:
Who produced it?
What would the producer gain?
Who is the audience?
How is it presented?
Example of false media:
In WW1 people were recruited through false advertisement and propaganda and lots of them were killed.
In april fools, lots of people were fooled that Steve Jobs was dead after a trolling that occurred in a SNS.
Age

To represent media effectively, you have to look at the age group of people you are presenting media at.
E.g. Posting advertisements aimed at teenagers on news papers would not be effective as posting the same material on magazines aim at teenagers.
